In the refuge now there are a lot of blooming wildflowers so the butterflies are very busy! When I can't find the bears, I have to look for other things to focus on for photo subjects so butterflies and wildflowers became the subject matter. of the visit. 

Barred Owls are really cool looking hoots and their call is just as interesting as they are. I can hear them calling from the wetlands behind my house "who cooks for you, who cooks for you all"!

Almost a month ago, I noticed some activity around our backyard squirrel box but it wasn't squirrels. Instead, it was a family of beautiful Great Crested Flycatchers.

I was walking in the neighbor's backyard last week trying to find a missing duck when I almost ran into a Red Fox. Yikes! It quickly fled from site. I was not surprised as I have heard foxes yipping as well as coyotes howling across the pond.
