For some time, I have been trying to go check out a First Friday event in downtown Manteo, NC. I think we picked a good time to attend on Friday, December 6th (the last one until April), but we should of gotten there a little earlier as there was a good sized crowd. We lucked up and found a perfect parking place which really helped as both my husband I were having issues with aches and pains! Since we have never been before did not know where to go but we arrived right in the middle of all the hubbub where all the Christmas music performers from the local schools and churches as well as some ballet dancers were performing right in front of the Dare County Art Council. All the stores and restaurants were still open so there was a lot to see and do. Also, hot chocolate was being served right beside the beautiful Christmas tree which was ready for the grand illumination lighting. We enjoyed walking along the waterfront checking out all the boats with festive Christmas lights and the Elizabeth IIÂ was decorated too!! I wish I had brought a better lens but did not want the hassle of the extra weight so relied on just a small 50mm.
